Sharing is Caring #1

Carl Nogueira

Yo everybody,  I have begun re-reading the rules for the first time in four years. I figured I'd throw out two categories of things to the list as I go. One, prefixed with a :-0 would be rules I didn't know. The other would be rules I knew, but wasn't sure where to find.

If folks find this wasted bandwidth, please feel free to jump over this, as I will be posting over the course of several weeks, perhaps months, depending on the pace I can set. I just figured it would be a nice way to share new rules knowledge, rather than say, rubbing my hands with glee and saying sinisterly, oh, why yes, you CAN do that. ;-)     So without further ado, and starting right at ground zero in Chapter A:

A.7 :-0  Unarmed units can be considered G/O.

A.8 :-0 To be ADJACENT also requires LOS. This applies if say, two units are

in gully hexes that are adjacent but not part of the same gully.

A.9 The example is where to find that a leader does not take a mc from the k/ result that wounds him. Useful, as it is a question I hear asked a lot. Its in the Q&A somewhere too, but this takes care of the Q&A doubter.

A.15 :-0  If you change CA to fire a cmg, lets say, in Defensive first fire,

then fire the MA later in Final fire, the drm for the tca change would apply. This is by way of example, and is reciprocal, as well as applying to other combinations, such as VCA changes, etc.

A1.11 :-0 Partisan SMC are not considered elite. Found this gem in the Q&A. (As I am reading a rules section, than all the accompanying Q&A with it) Means they are more likely to go beserk, and take little partisan friends with them.

A1.123 :-0   Apparently, vehicular crews, OUT of their vehicles, are not considered elite either. This is both in the Q&A, and, if read carefully, the body of the rules too. ( Note that infantry crew is italicized). Further note that this also effects ability to use weapons such as FT/DC for the partisan

SMC/veh. crews.

A1.23  This is another spot where you can find that an elr 5 HS, which is elred, becomes disrupted.

A1.31 pseudo :-0  A leader may only attempt to deploy one sqd in its location per freindly Rphse. Also, carrier HS (probably meant to read sqds formed by carrier HS) and unarmed MMC, do not need a ldr around to try this. ( along with a few other MMC types, but this happened to be the two types I was un aware of) Soooo, this where to find that rule, and it also means that escaped prisoners can try to break into HS and scatter, making recollection, more of a pain.

A1.32 :-0 Ditto for recombination.

A1.6 US for 5/8 Counters is a 4, For large vehicles or Guns a 5.

A2.3 A good one on where to find this sucker. You cannot setup on a half hex

of a board if it butts up against a halfhex of a board you cannot set up on.

Also such half hexes do NOT count for control of hexes on a board for VC fullfillment. If you set up on a half hex of two boards you are allowed to set up on, it counts toward any SSR/OB inflicted setup restrictions on BOTH boards. ( This part is in the Q&A)

A2.4 :-0 See the example. The TEM of this combined woods/building hex to small arms fire would be +3!!!! Never knew that, just knew about the combined mf. Would be a +1 vs indirect due to airbursts.

A2.5 ( another where to find) Q&A states its o.k. to advance onto, or overrunn onto an enemy unit from off board.

A2.51 If butted lengthwise, rows Y+Q+I are roads for offboard movement. If butted widthwise, all hex co-ordinates with a 5 are considered roads. This makes butting an actual board up against the board you are using for offboard movement slightly more important. Though only slightly.

Well, thats it for now. Let me know if any of this drivel has prooved useful. If not, I'll hoard all this wicked info as I come across it /:-) muh, ha ha ha. If so, well, o.k., I'll share :-). Carl N
